Now on the App Store

Message yourself. Share over Wi-Fi.

Wifi Note turns your iPhone into a private self-chat inbox and beams anything — text, photos, videos, audio, PDFs — straight to your computer over the same Wi-Fi. No login, no cloud, no limits.

Free · iOS 17+ · No account · 100% on-device

Everything in one tiny app

A self-chat inbox, a local Wi-Fi transfer bridge, a fast search, and a privacy-first design — all without an account.

Self-chat, simplified

Drop text, photos, videos, audio clips, and PDFs into a clean chat interface. Everything you send stays in your personal timeline.

Beam to any computer

Tap a button to start a local server, then open the shown URL on your Mac, PC, or Linux browser. Drag-and-drop files both ways.

QR pairing in a tap

No network typing. Scan the QR code from your computer camera or point your phone at the screen — the URL opens automatically.

Instant search & favorites

Filter by text, photos, videos, audio, or PDFs. Star the stuff you reuse — recipes, shipping addresses, verification codes — and jump back instantly.

Face ID + web PIN

Lock the whole app behind Face ID or a passcode. Protect your Wi-Fi portal with a 4-digit web PIN so only you can reach it on shared networks.

Play audio in the browser

Send voice memos and MP3/M4A/WAV/FLAC clips to your phone — they stream back in your browser with native controls, not just a download link.

How it works

Three taps. No installers on the computer side, no cables, no sign-up.

1

Save to yourself

Open Wifi Note, paste text, attach a file, or record a voice note. Your inbox builds up like a messaging thread with only you in it.

2

Turn on Wi-Fi share

Hit “Start sharing” on the Wi-Fi tab. Wifi Note shows a local URL and QR code — everything stays on your own network.

3

Open it on your computer

Scan the QR from your laptop camera or type the URL. Browse your timeline, download files, or drag new ones to upload from the computer.

Built for real moments

Not a cloud service. Not another messaging app. A focused tool that replaces the awkward “email myself” habit.

Move a photo to your laptop without AirDrop handshakes or Google Drive uploads.
Send a work PDF to a Windows PC on the same office Wi-Fi in one tap.
Clip text on desktop, grab it on mobile — paste in the browser, it appears in your phone inbox.
Record a voice idea on your phone and play it back on your Mac while you type the draft.
Keep a personal journal of notes and screenshots that never leaves your device.
Share big videos to your computer without a cable or compressed messenger upload.

Your data never leaves your Wi-Fi

Wifi Note uses a local HTTP server inside your iPhone — built on Apple’s Network.framework, no third-party SDKs — to serve your content only to devices on the same network. There are no servers, no accounts, and no analytics that watch what you store.

  • 100% on-device storage in the app’s private sandbox
  • Optional Face ID / passcode lock for the entire app
  • Optional 4-digit web PIN gate for the Wi-Fi portal
  • Bonjour + QR pairing, no accounts or emails
  • Server turns off the second you close the Wi-Fi tab

Free to use. Premium if you love it.

The core self-chat + Wi-Fi share is free forever. Premium unlocks power-user extras.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything on my computer?

No. Wifi Note serves a regular web page over your local Wi-Fi, so any modern browser on Mac, Windows, Linux, or even another phone works — no plugin, no driver, no extension.

Does my data go to the cloud?

Never. Files are stored inside the app sandbox on your iPhone and served only to browsers on the same Wi-Fi. There are no accounts, and no copy of your data lives on any server.

Can other people on the same Wi-Fi see my files?

Only if they know your iPhone’s local URL and you haven’t enabled a web PIN. Turn on the Premium web PIN gate to require a 4-digit code before anything is served.

What file types can I send?

Text, links, photos, videos, PDFs, and common audio formats including mp3, m4a, aac, wav, aiff, caf, flac and ogg. The browser UI even gives you inline audio playback, not just downloads.

What iPhone do I need?

Any iPhone on iOS 17 or later. Wifi Note is lightweight and built natively with SwiftUI.

Is Wifi Note really free?

Yes. The complete self-chat + Wi-Fi transfer flow is free forever. Premium is optional and unlocks the web PIN and future power-user additions.
